Help: how sovl works
On sovl every "best" says who says so. Real people, one vote per person, no stars.
How do I vote?
You vote in the sovl bot on Telegram: every ranking has a Vote button. Name the place you think is the best, and your vote counts for that category in that city, for example croissant in Brussels. You have one vote per category per city. Vote for another place later and your vote moves.
What does agreeing with someone mean?
You do not only back a place, you back a person. Tap Agree next to someone's vote, or open a link someone shared, and your vote hangs under theirs. If that person changes their mind later, you get one message: follow them, or stay? Nothing moves without you.
What is a challenge?
Think another place is better than the leader? Challenge. Your vote goes to your place and the voter you challenge gets one question: stay, or switch to yours? No answer within 48 hours counts as staying.
What is a recomment?
The answer to a challenge, or to someone you followed changing their mind: you stand by your pick, or you switch. That loop (vote, agree, challenge, choose again) is what sovl is built on.
What are the top hunters?
Whoever casts the first vote ever for a place or product in a ranking has found it. The top hunters list counts how many of someone's finds became #1, that is, led while that ranking had at least 3 voters: "5 finds, 3 became #1". You appear from 3 finds, per area (a country also counts its towns and neighbourhoods, a town its neighbourhoods) and for all rankings together, and only if your name is visible under your privacy choice: anyone sees the people who chose everybody, signed-in people also those who chose my circle and show them their name, and people who chose nobody never appear. The list changes nothing in the rankings themselves.
Why a phone number?
One phone number, one person. You share it in the bot with the "Share my number" button; a typed number does not count. It shows that one person stands behind each vote, not that you visited the place: sovl asks for no proof of visit. You can vote without a number, but then your vote does not count as phone verified. Your number never appears on the site.
Is my name on the site?
You choose, on your account or with "privacy" in the bot. Everybody: your name on the site and in the bot, with your own page at sovl.com/@yourname. My circle (where you start): only people who voted under your vote or under whom you voted, and whoever came in through your share link, see your name; sending your link is choosing to be known to that person. Nobody: your name appears nowhere. Whoever may not see your name sees "a voter", also in the data machines read.
How do I log in?
With Telegram, through the Log in button at the top. Logging in and signing up are the same thing: logging in on the site for the first time, or your first message to the bot, creates your account.
How do I delete my account?
Log in and go to your account, then Delete account. Your votes disappear and the rankings stop counting them. People who voted with you keep their vote. This cannot be undone.
